What you’ll do

Sign in with a codeWe email you a 6-digit code. There’s no password to make or remember.
Record your voiceOnce you agree to us creating your voice, you read 25 short prompts aloud. It takes 10 to 15 minutes somewhere quiet.
Go through checkout without payingThe app has a payment step we need to test. We give you a test card number to type in. Nothing is charged, and you never enter your own card.
Hear your voice and make a messageCreate a message for someone you love, listen to it, and save it.
Use it in your own timeCome back to it whenever you like over about two weeks. There are no daily tasks.
A 30-minute video callAt the end, we talk about what worked, what didn’t, and anything that confused you. The $40 honorarium is for finishing the experience and this call.

How much time it takes

About 30 minutes to get set up, a few short visits over two weeks, and the 30-minute call at the end.

Your voice and your details

Nothing happens without your clear yesWe only create your voice after you agree to it, in the app, before you record.
You can delete it any timeDeleting your account in Settings removes your recordings and messages right away and tells our voice provider to delete your voice. Our database backups clear within about a week. It can’t be undone. Your application is kept separately, as below.
Not used to train AIWe’ve turned off training with our voice provider, so your recordings aren’t used to train their models.
What we do with your applicationWe use it only to choose testers and to contact you about the test group. Our small team reviews it in Notion, the workspace tool we use.
How long we keep itIf you’re not picked this round, we keep your application so we can invite you to the next one, and delete it within 6 months of when you applied. If you take part, we keep it until the test group ends and delete it within 6 months after that. Email us any time to have it deleted sooner.
